St. Paul Episcopal freshman LB Anthony Jones reacts to Alabama offer

Anthony Jones

Anthony Jones earned an offer from Alabama Wednesday, adding to his growing list.

Jones is a freshman at St. Paul Episcopal High School in Mobile, Alabama. He is on pace to be one of the most sought-after 2026 recruits in the country with previous offers from Auburn, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia and others. His offer total sits at 13 after the Crimson Tide joined the recruitment of the fast-rising prospect.

The Mobile product said he is a fan of how Alabama football uses its defensive players.

“I like their defensive system and the roles,” Jones told Touchdown Alabama. “I also like Nick Saban and how he does not care about the hype and stars.”

Jones previously expressed an offer from the Crimson Tide would be big for him.

“It would mean a lot, especially it being a home-state team and being offered by Nick Saban,” said Jones. “Alabama is also one of my dream offers.”

Alabama could get Jones on campus on March 4 for its early March junior-day event. He is considering visiting Tuscaloosa then.

At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Jones has a huge upside as a defensive prospect.

The freshmen made plays as an inside linebacker and as an edge-rusher during the 2022 football season. He finished the year with 130 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, one pick-six and four touchdowns.
