Brandon Lockley has announced a verbal commitment to the Oregon Ducks.
Lockley attends St. Joseph’s Prep High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he garners a four-star rating from most recruiting sites. There is a chance the four-star continues to be a top target for the Tide.
Alabama’s inside linebacker coach Chuck Morrell has appeared to make a hard push for Lockley. He visited him in Pennsylvania last week.
“It meant a lot having coach Morrell come visit,” Lockley told Touchdown Alabama after Morrell’s visit. “I really enjoyed our conversation and getting a better feel for his coaching style and the vision for the program. He let me know how high of a priority I am. I appreciate him for that. It was a great visit.”
Lockley previously had an official visit locked in with the Tide. It will be interesting to see if he still takes the visit.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder takes great angles in pursuit of the football with the ability to make tackles in space. He is also comfortable in coverage while defending against the pass. Alabama sees him as a fit at inside linebacker.
Alabama currently has no linebacker commits in the early days of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
