Jared Goff, who enters his third regular season as the Lions’ starting quarterback, has several playmakers at his disposal — including a running back that doubles as a wide receiver. Detroit is looking smarter by the minute for its decision to take Jahmyr Gibbs with its first draft pick at No. 12 overall. He has been highly impressive in OTAs, especially with his ability to catch out of the backfield and line up as a receiver. Gibbs has looked impressive in his routes and completion of plays in OTAs for the Lions.

He established a bond with Bryce Young in 2022, becoming Alabama’s leading receiver with 44 catches. Gibbs finished third on the team for receiving yards (444) and had three touchdowns. The native Georgian is now working on a connection with Goff.
