Former Alabama DL Isaiah Buggs continues 50-day countdown to football season

Nick Saban will answer questions from reporters at SEC Football Media Days, but he is more excited about Alabama football returning in 49 days.

The staff at Touchdown Alabama Magazine continues its countdown to the season by highlighting Isaiah Buggs

Buggs, a former Crimson Tide defensive end, played under Saban from 2017 to 2018.

He came to Alabama from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and became an impact player. As a Louisiana native, Buggs recorded 51 tackles, four stops for loss, 1.5 sacks, and seven quarterback hurries in 2017. He helped the Tide’s defense reach the College Football Playoff and earn a national championship. Buggs collected 51 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks (team-high), six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 2018. He paced the defense to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a second consecutive CFP appearance. Buggs wore No. 49 for the Tide and was successful in Saban’s system.

He has continued his success in the National Football League as he’s with the Detroit Lions.
