Former Alabama DL Christian Barmore becomes a father on his birthday

Christian Barmore (#90) celebrates a big play for Patriots in matchup versus New York Jets

He was a diamond in the rough, but Christian Barmore was the last dominant defensive lineman in the Nick Saban era for the University of Alabama.

Barmore got selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder had an impressive rookie season, totaling 46 tackles, three stops for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. He helped the Patriots advance to the playoffs in the National Football League at 10-7. Last season, Barmore had 23 tackles, two tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a pass breakup. He is excited for the upcoming season; however, Barmore encountered something special Friday.

He becomes a father on his birthday with a new baby entering his life. The 2020 College Football Playoff National Champion shared a photo to Instagram of him kissing his new child. Barmore has motivation to work even harder in the league.

In his national championship season with the Tide, Barmore had 37 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks (team-high), three breakups, six quarterback hurries, and three forced fumbles. He came as a four-star prospect in Alabama’s 2018 signing class.
