Fittingly enough the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Watch List was well represented by his alma mater.
Three Alabama freshmen were named to the list on Wednesday which included defensive back Caleb Downs, running back Justice Haynes and offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor.

All three arrived as five-star recruits according to Touchdown Alabama’s independent recruiting rankings, and all three could see playing time immediately for the Crimson Tide.
Proctor is in the midst of a competition at tackle on offense, Haynes has been praised by the team which could lead to carries with the Crimson Tide’s emphasis on the running game and Downs is expected to be one of the starting safeties on defense.
How each one of their competitions is resolved will be learned on Saturday when Alabama welcomes Middle Tennessee inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
