Alabama football is done playing musical chairs in its quarterback room.
Nick Saban put an end to the situation in Monday’s press conference, naming Jalen Milroe as the starter for the Crimson Tide moving forward for the season. Coach Saban said the redshirt sophomore ‘showed the leadership’ he was looking for in supporting his teammates against South Florida. Milroe did not play versus the Bulls, but he was locked in on the sideline.
“He has had the opportunity to play as well as the other guys,” Saban said about Milroe. “Jalen has played the best of all those guys, so I think he has earned the opportunity to be the quarterback.”
It took three games, but Alabama is officially rolling with Milroe.
