ESPN analyst lays out why Ole Miss should beat Alabama

Lane Kiffin watches a play during Ole Miss game against Kentucky
Katie Stratman - USA Today Sports

Alabama football is a -6.5-point favorite for Saturday’s matchup against Ole Miss.

Some members of the national media do not agree with the point spread. Barrett Sallee of CBS believes Alabama should be the underdog to Mississippi at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Peter Burns of SEC Network laid out via Twitter why the Rebels should beat the Crimson Tide this season. The ESPN analyst sees this as the best opportunity for Lane Kiffin to defeat Nick Saban.

Ole Miss’ quarterback room and Pete Golding are two of the reasons Burns provides for the Rebels to win.

Alabama is also coming off one of its worst performances in a winning effort versus South Florida. Steve Sarkisian got his signature over Coach Saban in week two, so people are expecting Kiffin to follow suit.

The matchup will be at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS as both schools open their Southeastern Conference schedules.
