Alabama football may have something to take over the Heisman conversation.
Jalen Miroe followed up a sensational performance against Louisiana State University with a dominant showing at Kroger Field versus Kentucky. The sophomore quarterback led the Crimson Tide to a 49-21 victory. Alabama secured its tenth SEC Western Division title in the Nick Saban era. Milroe tied Tua Tagovailoa and Bryce Young as the third quarterback in Alabama history to record six touchdowns in a game. He posted three touchdown passes and three rushing scores for the Tide. The native Texan completed 16 of 23 passes for 240 yards. Milroe tossed an interception, but his confidence had Alabama’s offense rocking.

Defensively, the Tide held Ray Davis to 26 yards rushing.
Alabama forced two turnovers, including an interception off Devin Leary. Kevin Steele, the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator, pressured Leary all game long. Leary was sacked three times and knocked around a lot. Alabama forced nine tackles for loss.
The Tide got it done without Deontae Lawson, Jaylen Key, Ja’Corey Brooks, and Jermaine Burton.
Milroe made it happen with the guys on the field, and Alabama won the SEC West.
It faces Chattanooga next week at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
