Alabama football brings everyone to a television set.

Whether it is Crimson Tide fans, Alabama haters, or those who like marquee brands in college football, Alabama compels people to watch them play, place bets, and enjoy good football. This year’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game gave people and television networks what they wanted. The Tide took down the No. 1 team in the country that had not lost a game in 29 tries.

Alabama punched its ticket into the College Football Playoff with a 27-24 victory over Georgia. According to Sports Media Watch, this SEC Championship matchup was the most watched one since 2009 between Alabama and Florida from the Georgia Dome.

The Tide and Bulldogs drew an 8.9 rating and 17.5 million views on CBS — the most of any conference championship game last week. The SEC means more to everyone; Alabama is the needle that gets the crowd involved.

Nick Saban captured his ninth SEC Championship as Alabama’s head coach.

He now prepares to face Michigan in the Rose Bowl (CFP Semifinal) on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, Calif.
