Kamhariyan Johnson has shut down his recruitment and is focused on being a force for Muscle Shoals High School during his last year of high school football.

Johnson is a four-star edge prospect, who is currently committed to Alabama. His senior season is off to a nice start after he finished the first game of his senior campaign with three sacks.

The four-star reflected back on his decision to shut down his recruitment after this performance.

“I’ll say me knowing where I’m going to go, just a love that I didn’t get from no other school,” Johnson told Touchdown Alabama when asked why he felt comfortable shutting down his recruitment. “I just knew for a fact that Alabama was the school for me, and I didn’t have no problems shutting my recruitment down.”

Alabama plans to play Johnson at different spots along its defensive front. He could find a home at bandit or more in the interior of the Tide’s defensive line. He has been watching the Tide’s entire defensive line and likes the opportunity playing in Kane Wommack’s defense presents him.

“I’ve been watching LT (Overton),” Johnson said, “I watched really the whole line, though. So, I’ve been watching them. I know for a fact I am going to  play inside and out. It’s going to be a good thing for me. I feel like that’s the best thing for me because that’s going to help me NFL-wise. That’s going to make me better. I get to get on the field early, and I just like the swarm defense.”

Johnson has a close relationship with a pair of his future teammates. He, Xavier Griffin and Jamarion Matthews are all products of North Alabama. Johnson is excited to play alongside both of them in the future.

“I would say our relationship is very close,” Johnson said. “We can do stuff outside of football. We’re going to be very special on that line, too. Just because of the talent, I mean, they’re going to double team one person, and the other person gonna be free.”

The Alabama coaching staff continues to tell Johnson to enjoy his senior season before he moves up to the next level.

“They want me to go ball out,” Johnson said. “They ready for me to come down there.”
