Keon Sabb took the ball away from Vanderbilt with a crucial interception in the fourth quarter when the Commodores were threatening to score.

Sabb came down from his safety spot to intercept the pass intended for Vanderbilt tight end, Eli Stowers. The play stopped the Commodores from potentially taking the lead against Alabama in the last quarter of the game.

It was Sabb’s first interception of the season. The New Jersey native talked about the play with reporters after the game and said what he saw on the play.”

“It was like a three-open look,” Sabb said. “I just let one go back, and I ended up just falling right into it.”

Sabb feels Alabama’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack deserves some credit for his interception. The safety credits his coach for putting him in a position to make the play.

“I feel like we just had a good call,” Sabb told reporters. “Coach put me in the right position. I just did my job and the ball ended up hitting me right in the chest.”

Alabama turned Sabb’s interception into three points, which gave the Tide a comfortable two-possession lead at 23-14.
