John Gazzaniga has earned a scholarship from Alabama football after joining the Tide as a walk-on.
Gazzaniga is set to enter his sophomore season with the Crimson Tide this fall after earning playing time in one game last season. He is a product of Rancho Santa Margarita High School in California.
The news of Gazzaniga’s scholarship was shared by his dad David Gazzaniga in a since deleted video.
The Crimson Tide now has five scholarship quarterbacks on its roster. Gazzaniga joins Austin Mack, Keelon Russell, Jett Thomalla and Tayden Kaawa.
Gazzaniga threw for 3,994 yards and 30 touchdowns during his high school career. He also rushed for 486 yards and seven touchdowns.
