In a transfer-portal age where NIL prices are routinely soaring past the seven-digit marks, Alabama is doing pretty good business shopping local.
Hyperlocal, in fact.
Alabama’s roster features a trio of Tuscaloosa County natives on scholarship, including starting right tackle Wilkin Formby, backup running back Kevin Riley and backup left guard William Sanders. That’s not counting injured starting Wolf linebacker Jah-Marien Latham, who hails from Reform in bordering Pickens County. The Tide also has a handful of walk-ons who know their way around City Cafe and Dreamland.
The homegrown crop has yielded plenty of production so far this fall.
