Gulf Shores’ junior wide receiver, Carter Davis has met with several coaches this week.
Those meetings led to multiple re-offers. The new staff at LSU extended a re-offer to him, along with Alabama football’s new wide receiver coach Derrick Nix. Re-offers are typically extended when there is a staff change at a program.
Davis recently reflected on a busy Monday with Touchdown Alabama. LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss came to visit him to start off the week.
“LSU started my day off,” Davis said. “I had a long conversation with coach (Joe) Cox, a good guy, said he was going to re-offer me. Then coach Nix at Alabama came to talk to me for a class period. It was really cool. Then, coach (Pete) Golding came. I started to talk to him about track because I have state this week, a cool guy.”
Nix used his time with Carter to lay the groundwork for the future of the Tide’s push for the in-state wide receiver.
“We had a great conversation,” Davis told Touchdown Alabama. “We were getting to know each other in those minutes we talked, and coach DeBoer is a great fit for Alabama, excited to see what they do this year.”
All three programs are among several programs standing out to the 2027 prospect.
“Alabama is structure and expectations,” Davis said. “LSU is swagger and volatility and Ole Miss is confidence and cleverness.”
Davis is an explosive wide receiver prospect, who explodes out of his release off the line of scrimmage and continues to accelerate as he creates separation. He is also dangerous after the catch.
