Four Alabama legends will be participating in the 2026 Pro Bowl games, representing their respective conferences.
Houston Texans edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. and Denver Broncos defensive back Patrick Surtain II will represent the AFC, and Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs will represent the NFC.
2026 was arguably the best NFL season in the careers of these former Alabama players. When looking at Anderson Jr. for example, he had a fantastic year, racking up 54 total tackles, 12 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three pass deflections. The Texans traded up in the 2023 NFL Draft to get Anderson Jr. at No. 3 overall, and they are getting a heck of a return on investment.
Surtain II is one of the reasons why the Broncos captured the top seed in the AFC and made a long run in the postseason. The Broncos had one of the best defenses, if not the best, in the entire NFL, and even though the Broncos lost in the AFC Championship game, they still held the Patriots to 10 points. Surtain only played in 14 games this year as he dealt with an injury, but he tallied up 47 total tackles, an interception and broke up 12 passes.
For Williams, he was traded from the New York Jets to the Dallas Cowboys, a trade that ultimately put Williams in a better situation at this stage of his career. Williams finished the season with 53 total tackles, an interception, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and a pass deflection.
Last but not least, Gibbs will be in the Pro Bowl Games. He had arguably his best NFL season statistically, running for 1,223 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns as well as catching 77 passes for 616 yards and five touchdowns. For all the fantasy football players in the world, the term “league winner” was applied to Gibbs as he exploded in a handful of games this year, like the Overtime win against the New York Giants where Gibbs rushed for 219 yards, two touchdowns, and he also caught a touchdown to add to the pair of touchdowns he got on the ground.
The Pro Bowl Games will take place today with coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
