Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb recently was asked what changes he wants to see from his offensive line in 2026 while talking with WAKA Action 8 News TV sports reporter, Julianna Reichenbach.
Grubb immediately brought up the Crimson Tide’s focus on improving its rushing attack. The Alabama offensive coordinator said he feels the Tide needs to be more physical upfront to help its rushing attack have success in the third year of the Kalen DeBoer era.
“I know everybody’s dying to see, a little bit better in the run game,” Grubb said. “Obviously, I would be one of those people. I think for us, the physical mindset that we got to have week in and week out in the SEC to be successful running the football will be paramount to how we can play next year on offense.”
Alabama recently moved on from its former offensive line coach, Chris Kapilovic, after two years. Reports surfaced Adrian Klemm will take over Kapilovic’s role soon after.
The Tide’s rushing attack will be looking to take a step forward in 2026 after leaving a lot to be desired during the 2025 season. Alabama returns Daniel Hill, Kevin Riley and AK Dear to its backfield. The Tide is adding Khalifa Keith from the transfer portal and two incoming freshmen in Ezavier Crowell and Trae’shawn Brown.
Alabama’s offensive line also has multiple new additions via the transfer portal and high school ranks, but the Tide is only returning one starter. How this group looks in the spring will be one of the biggest talking points for the Tide.
