It has been an opinionated spring for Alabama football, when it comes to its former players discussing why they chose different schools via the NCAA transfer portal.

Most took the route of pumping up their new program; however, a former four-star took the opportunity to fire shots at the Crimson Tide. Earl Little Jr., a South Florida native, started his collegiate career at the University of Alabama (2022-23) under Nick Saban.

He suffered a couple of shoulder injuries and decided to transfer to Florida State University in 2024.

Little played against the Tide last season as a member of the Seminoles, helping the ACC school to a 31-17 victory.

Little is now at Ohio State University after detailing his commitment on Jan. 11. He took aim at Alabama’s strength and conditioning program, especially after what he’s been exposed to at Ohio State. The Buckeyes are one of three Big Ten institutions that have captured a College Football Playoff National Championship in the last five seasons (since 2020).

“The level of competition day in and day out,” Little said about the difference between Ohio State and Alabama. “At Alabama, we didn’t compete in the weight room like we do here. Literally, with everything you‘re doing at Ohio State, you’re gonna compete, and you have to be your best every single day.”

Alabama players would love a chance to face Little and Ohio State in the CFP to show how imposing they are in the weight room. David Ballou, the Crimson Tide’s strength coach, has a responsibility this fall to have Alabama pummeling each opponent with physicality.
