Kaleb Ballard has a long list of college football programs hoping to be his choice in the future.

Ballard is a 2028 prospect, and he attends Wetumpka High School in Alabama. He garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites, and the four-star has the potential to play either wide receiver or tight end at the next level. He is trending to have an opportunity to choose which position he plays.

Wetumpka High School head football coach Bear Woods describes him as a player who will do whatever it takes to win.

“He’s got the grit, like he has the heart to get it done,” Woods said. “It doesn’t matter what position you put him in, he’s going to play with that same passion because it’s about winning. You can’t really get players to just want to win the way some guys are just born with it. He wants to win. He will say, ‘I’ll play this, I’ll play that,’ like, whatever the team needs to win. He is special.”

Ballard holds college football offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others. He is enjoying both sides of the early parts of the recruitment process.

“It feels good, have a lot of attention, have a target on my back,” Ballard said.

Florida was the latest school to host Ballard for a camp visit, and the Gators impressed.

“The campus was very nice,” Ballard told Touchdown Alabama. “They have an amazing coaching staff. The atmosphere down there was wonderful.”

Auburn also hosted the impressive tight end for a camp this summer, and the Tigers’ tight end coach Larry Scott stands out to Ballard.

“It is just his record and his reputation of putting tight ends in the league,” Ballard said.

Alabama was able to get the four-star on campus for camp this month, and the camaraderie within the program stood out to Ballard.

“The reputation and how close they are is great,” said Ballard.

The Crimson Tide offered the rising junior during spring football when he visited. Ballard, who is the younger cousin of Alabama freshman wide receiver, Cederian Morgan, considered earning an Alabama offer to be a dream come true.

“It’s a childhood dream,” Ballard told Touchdown Alabama. “I grew up an Alabama fan. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to go play there. I loved it. There’s nothing else like it.”

Ballard is a great blend of size and athleticism at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. Many are high on his potential to be a dangerous offensive weapon at the next level, at either tight end or wide receiver, because he is an extremely tough cover out wide with his size. Woods feels Ballard is a great athlete but an even better young man off the field.

“He’s an incredible young man, high character,” Woods said. “He’s going to come in and work. You really find out about a player and his character by how they address the weight room, and he’s about it. He doesn’t miss workouts. He is a three-sport athlete. He doesn’t miss workouts. He’s a young man that I’ve gotten to see grow into a personality of a leader, being here for a year, and just being a sophomore, and that’s been the fun part, as well. He’s definitely a leader in how he handles each day. Everybody would like to have somebody like him on their team as a player.”
