Nehemiah McCary is enjoying the early stages of his recruitment as he attempts to get a better feel for the recruitment process.

McCary is a highly-touted 2028 prospect, and he attends Maplesville High School in Alabama. His offer list is head-turning, with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and others.

The talented linebacker spent the summer checking out multiple schools and camped in front of their coaching staffs. Florida was one of those programs.

“It was fun,” McCary said. “The energy was high, and I love the coaching. It was great.”

When the junior camped at Alabama, he made waves when he clocked in a 4.6 forty-yard dash at around 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds. The visit helped the Crimson Tide remain in a solid spot with McCary.

“I got a good relationship with coach Christian Robinson,” McCary told Touchdown Alabama. “We talk a lot. The coaches, they seem to love me up there. The camp, it was great, good coaching, helped me out with a bunch of stuff.”

Auburn is also working to build a relationship with McCary. They got him on campus during the summer and their edge coach Coleman Hutzler is staying in consistent contact with the Maplesville product.

“It’s the same way with all the other schools,” McCary said. “Me and coach (Coleman) Hutzler, we talk a lot, got a good relationship with the coaches. got some good going on in Auburn, and I think they’re going to be good.”

McCary is considered to be one of the best linebacker prospects in the country, and he fits the mold for what a lot of teams are pursuing. He checks the size box at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, and his athleticism allows him to move like a running back.
