How Alabama OL coach Adrian Klemm has changed life for Tide offensive line

Alabama football’s offensive line wants to continue to get better after three games this season, and the trajectory of this group looks a lot different than last year.

The Crimson Tide struggled to protect Ty Simpson at times throughout the 2025 college football season, and Alabama’s rushing attack was abysmal at best in several games down the stretch.

Things look a lot different upfront on offense for Alabama these days. Four new starters make up the Tide’s starting group, and Adrian Klemm is the man leading this group as the Tide’s offensive line coach.

Klemm, who is a former NFL offensive lineman, has had a huge impact on the Tide’s offensive line, according to Alabama’s starting left guard Will Sanders.

“It’s like you’re getting coached by somebody who does know exactly what we’re doing,” Sanders said. “He played at a high level, coached at so many high levels. And it’s at the end of the day, he’s such a teacher before he’s a coach. A lot of times in the film room, he’ll break it down. He preaches technique so much. And I feel like the guys are really starting to understand it because of how he’s finding new ways to teach it to us, finding new drills, making sure everybody understands it. And if somebody doesn’t get it, he’ll find a way to help them get it.”

On the field, Klemm is a calm teacher.

“He’s really calm, chill during practice,” Sanders told reporters. “Like I said, he’s such a teacher, like making sure we know what we’re doing. I mean, it’s hard not to get frustrated sometimes, but you wouldn’t know that he’s frustrated. You just know that he cares so much about us. He wants us to get it so badly, not for him, but for us, because he wants to see us succeed. He wants to see us play fast and hard on the field. And at the end of the day, I mean, it’s crazy coming off the field. You might’ve messed up. He just wants to see you smile.”

Continued growth for the Tide’s offensive line is expected to pay big dividends for the Tide.
