Shannon Sharpe calls out Nick Saban for comments abut Kamario Taylor

Shannon Sharpe decided to call out Nick Saban during a recent episode of “Night Cap.”

Sharpe’s statement comes on the heels of Nick Saban being one of the leaders of the push to pass the Protect College Sports Act. The U.S. Senate voted 77-22 to pass the federal bill earlier this week. The bill aims to put a cap on how much schools can pay athletes and limits transfers to one time without penalty.

Saban recently garnered a lot of attention while talking about Mississippi State starting quarterback Kamario Taylor, who Saban is a big fan of.

“If I was coaching right now, I’d be trying to get Kamario Taylor to get into the portal,” Saban said on ESPN College Gameday.

Sharpe feels those comments contradict what Saban is pushing for.

“He told Kamario Taylor, jump in the transfer portal next year,” Sharpe said. “Y’all see how he speaking out both sides of his mouth? They done had all these politicians come up there, ‘Oh, it’s getting out of hand, and how they gonna be able to pay these kids. They gotta get control.’ And here’s a guy who said, if he’s a coach, he will tell him to get in the portal.”

Taylor is one of the best quarterbacks in college football. He is set to lead the Bulldogs against Alabama this weekend in Starkville.
