What DeBoer feels has to change for the Alabama offense to get back on track

The Alabama offense is struggling to put up the points it did to start the season.

The Crimson Tide offense put up a lot of points in its first five games of the year. The unit helped Alabama score more than 40 points in five straight games.

However, the Tide is now finding it hard to even put up 20 points. Alabama scored 10 points against Tennessee in a loss on Saturday, and Georgia limited the Tide to 17 points when the Bulldogs defeated Alabama the week before.

Kalen DeBoer was asked about the changes that needed to happen to get the Tide’s offense back on track after the Vols beat Alabama.

“There’s got to be some continuity in a run game that is going to set up some opportunities for us to be able to have our whole offense available,” DeBoer said. “And in the end, it’s hard to drive the ball play after play for three or four yards to play down the drive, especially if you have some penalties on top of it, and so we got to make sure we continue to hone in on some of the things we are really good at. And execute because that’s where you can get your place, and that’s where you know the explosive athletes and players can go and get the job done. So you know, to me, I don’t know what the explosives were for today and again, the run game sets that up. So you gotta have a little bit of both feeding off each other. When we have been rolling as an offense, usually both of those things are in sync and rolling together.”

Alabama has very little room for error after back-to-back losses. The Tide’s offense has to find itself again if Alabama wants a shot at making the College Football Playoff.
