Keelon Russell tells where he has gotten better, needs to grow

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Texas A&M Aggies by a final score of 31-20 on Saturday afternoon.

Alabama found themselves getting off to a slow offensive start once again in the first half. The Tide were able to capitalize with a pick-6 on their first defensive drive of the game, and the unit as a whole kept Alabama in it throughout the majority of the first half.

Things change fast, however, as the Tide looked like a completely different offensive unit in the second half of today’s contest. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell took a moment to comment on his performance today, as Russell claims he has seen major improvement in his game as a whole across the first 8 weeks of the regular season.

“Just operating with the guys.” Russell said. “You know, not having careless penalties, delay of games, stuff like that. Just operating at a higher speed, I’m reading the defense at a faster pace. Getting the ball out when I need to get it out, just extending plays. Those are the things that are going to keep getting better and better.”

Russell recorded 311 yards through the air in addition to throwing three touchdowns and an interception. The rising star will more than likely continue improving as the season progresses, and Russell was able to bounce back in authoritative fashion today following a slow start from the unit as a whole.
