The Alabama Crimson Tide is set to face LSU on the road for a highly anticipated matchup in Week 10.

Alabama’s contest against the Tigers will kick off at 2:30 PM CT, to the surprise of many. This will be the first afternoon kickoff that Alabama has seen on the road in Baton Rouge since 2010, and a win over LSU may very well solidify the Tide’s spot in the College Football Playoff.

Tigers’ head coach Lane Kiffin took a moment to comment on the early kickoff, as Kiffin claims he was shocked when he initially heard the news.

“I mean, I was shocked. I didn’t even think to even think about the time.” Kiffin said. “I just assumed, especially in 16 years, this game has been at night here all the time, in the last 16 years. I never even thought or considered that it wouldn’t be at night, so I guess that’s probably naive of me. I was joking earlier when people were saying, well, obviously, the SEC wanted to change this year from how it’s been to give LSU less advantage of, obviously, with how well LSU plays at night, how intimidating it is to play here. I was like, well, someone thinks the SEC wants us to win this year after what’s been going on, they must have just been on Mars the last four months. I guess when I look at it that way, I’m not surprised.”

Kiffin and the Tigers will look to defeat Alabama in Death Valley this season for the first time since 2022. The matchup will prove to be critical for both teams, and the Tide will undoubtedly need to be at their best despite the unexpected kickoff time in Baton Rouge.
