Nick Saban continues to take full responsibility for the current state of Alabama football.
The Crimson Tide are 7-2 after suffering losses to Tennessee and LSU. They currently have a 17 percent chance of making the College Football Playoff, according to ESPN. Alabama’s lack of success and consistency on both sides of the football has caused many Alabama fans to point fingers at Alabama’s coordinators.
Saban told ESPN Thursday he is not blaming ‘anybody else in the organization.’
“It’s my responsibility,” Saban said. “I know what plays they call; I’m involved in how they prepare for the week. I watch practice film with them. But I think people look for somebody to hate when things don’t go right. But most of the stuff comes down to a lack of execution. It’s not really what you’re doing, it’s how did you do it?”
The Alabama head coach told reporters earlier that there is room for every coach on Alabama’s staff to improve.
“I am not gonna analyze somebody publicly, good, bad or indifferent,” said Saban. “We are all working hard together. We are all responsible for what we do. Do we need to play better on both sides of the ball? Absolutely. We got to play better upfront, and we gotta make less mistakes, overall, organizationally. There is not a, a coach or a player in this organization that can’t do things better to help our players have a better chance to be successful. And I think the players themselves also have to be accountable and go out there and do things that they are supposed to do, especially in critical times in the game.”
