Kevin Oatis returned to Tuscaloosa Saturday for the Crimson Tide’s junior day after earning an Alabama offer in January.
Oatis attends Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and he is a member of the 2025 recruiting class. The Mississippi product already boasts an impressive offer list with 12 offers, including offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M.
The Crimson Tide offered Oatis in January along with 11 other programs as the sophomore saw his recruitment explode in the first month of the year. Alabama’s offer on Jan. 16 left Oatis with a crazy feeling.
“When Alabama first offered me, I was like dang, this is crazy,” Oatis told Touchdown Alabama. “I was like I have to be doing something right.”
The rising 2025 recruit said he feels Alabama speaks for itself.
“I mean it is Alabama,” said Oatis. “It is one of the best programs ever.”
Oatis returned to Tuscaloosa to visit Alabama Saturday. He left his most recent visit to UA with a better feel for the program.
“What stood out is how the players were engaging with the recruits and just telling us about how they feel about the school and things about the school,” Oatis said. “That was great because I get a hand on the inside of what goes on.”
Oatis is listed at 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds. He is disruptive in the trenches with a quick first step and the strength to power through blocks. The Alabama target is also really impressive in space.
