Redshirt sophomore wide receiver ArDarius Stewart drew much attention during fall practice, for his ability to adjust to the football and make explosive plays.
He was considered to be this year’s version of Amari Cooper for Alabama, yet it’s been fellow sophomore wideout Robert Foster assuming the role. He’s totaled 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight catches, after logging just 44 yards on six receptions last season.
Foster was a leader in position drills throughout fall camp, and has developed chemistry with both senior quarterback Jacob Coker and redshirt sophomore Cooper Bateman.
His hands and route running abilities have improved, while Foster continues to maintain balance and body control at 6-foot-2, 194 pounds. Both of his touchdown receptions set the tone on offense in the first half and came on passes over 10 yards.
He’s become a more coachable player.
A native of Monaca, Pa., and a former five-star prospect, Foster progressed from week one to week two. He’s engaged on offense and is showing offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin that he can be trusted with the football. It’s no longer a given that Stewart is the main guy.
