After the Las Vegas Raiders hosted him, the University of Alabama alum will meet the Carolina Panthers. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news as Young may potentially be the No. 1 overall pick. Carolina needs a quarterback under first-year head coach, Frank Reich, and the team came to Tuscaloosa (Ala.) to watch Young throw at the Crimson Tide’s Pro Day.

Young and C.J. Stroud of Ohio State are in a race to see who gets drafted first. As a former five-star, Young tossed for 8,200 passing yards and 79 passing touchdowns in two years as a starter. He led the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship Game appearance in 2021. Young set a single-season school record for passing yards (4,872), passing touchdowns (47), and total touchdowns (50) in 2021, becoming the first Alabama quarterback to capture the Heisman Memorial Trophy. He suffered an injury in 2022, but Young posted 3,328 passing yards and 32 touchdowns.
