As a former four-star in the 2019 recruiting class, the native Mississippian helped the Crimson Tide to two Southeastern Conference Championships (2020, 2021) and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020. Young finished last season with 48 tackles to lead Alabama’s defensive linemen. He also had 5.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, six quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He assisted Alabama to 11 wins in 2022, including a victory in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
The Raiders made his night in the third round as Young got the draft call from them.
