DeMeco Ryans is excited to see what his first defensive selection in the NFL Draft will do in the fall.
Will Anderson Jr., a University of Alabama alumnus, heard his name called to the Houston Texans at No. 3 overall.

Anderson has his new number, No. 51, and is moving well in rookie minicamp. He understands how Ryans wants to use him in the Texans’ scheme, seeing how it will be similar to what he did for the Crimson Tide. Anderson had double-digit sack numbers in 2021 and 2022, including 17.5 sacks as a sophomore. He is the lone player in Alabama history to be a two-time Unanimous First-Team All-American. Anderson intends on becoming an impactful playmaker as a rookie to restore respect to the Texans’ defense.
