RELATED: Jalen Milroe sets an Alabama football record in second career start
Some people look at the University of Georgia as a runaway favorite to three-peat for a national championship. However, a former Bulldogs quarterback was impressed with Jalen Milroe’s outing for Alabama against Middle Tennessee State at Bryant-Denny Stadium. In his second career start, Milroe became the first Crimson Tide signal-caller to record three touchdown passes and two touchdown runs in the same game. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 194 yards, posted 48 yards rushing, and had five scores.
Milroe propelled the Tide to a 56-7 victory and earned Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Southeastern Conference. Aaron Murray does a podcast called, “Snaps,” for The Volume Company and is an analyst for ESPN and SiriusXM Radio. He highlighted Milroe as one of his top quarterbacks from week one of the college football season.

Milroe grew up a fan of Vince Young. Steve Sarkisian and Jeff Banks were in on his recruitment process to Alabama, but both coaches are now with the Longhorns. Milroe, a native Texan, has a chance to have another marquee outing in prime time.
