Kareem Jackson made a name for himself at Alabama as a lockdown coverage cornerback from 2007-09. The former Crimson Tide standout has taken the same mindset to the National Football League with the Houston Texans. Houston finds itself in last place, despite a horrible AFC South Division. It dropped to 1-4 on the season, after losing to Indianapolis 27-20 on Thursday Night Football. Jackson finished fourth on the team in tackles with five.
He recorded four solo tackles and defended two passes.
Jackson, a six-year veteran, is second on the team in tackles this season with 26. He was one of multiple players that reached a contract extension during the offseason.
Houston re-signed Jackson to a four-year deal worth $34 million on Mar. 7. The contract included $20 million guaranteed. Jackson and the Texans will travel to EverBank Stadium next week for a divisional game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A chance for Houston to improve.
