Is it time for Mac Jones to look for a new team in the National Football League after this season?
It looks that way, especially via team insiders for the New England Patriots.
Andrew Callahan, who covers the Patriots for the Boston Herald, reports that Jones has lost the locker room. He says via a team source the Patriots are 80 to 20 out on Jones, and the majority of players are done with him. Callahan also mentioned it’s time for New England to look at Malik Cunningham as the option at quarterback. He said the Patriots need more excitement.

Jones has 2,031 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

He is a third-year quarterback; however, New England has failed him in the last two seasons. The Patriots had defensive coaches as offensive play callers in 2021, and Bill Belichick has yet to get Jones a marquee wide receiver. Belichick also has not embraced Jones as the starting quarterback for New England. The former Alabama football standout has not been in a situation where he can be successful. New England was thought to be the perfect place for Jones, but it has not been good. Jones was on two College Football Playoff National Championship teams for the Crimson Tide — including 2020, where he was the starting quarterback.
We will see where he ultimately ends up, but New England is not the place for Jones.
