The University of Alabama has had a lot of really good quarterbacks, especially in the Nick Saban era.
Bryce Young is the lone quarterback to have a Heisman Trophy for the Crimson Tide, Tua Tagovailoa propelled Alabama to “2nd and 26” to defeat Georgia for a College Football Playoff National Championship, Mac Jones delivered the Tide to a perfect season for a national title in the 2020 Coronavirus year, and AJ McCarron was a two-time national champion as a starting quarterback.

Jalen Milroe, a redshirt junior, accomplished something last week that no one else in school history has done.
According to ESPN’s Cole Cubelic, Milroe had his third career game with three passing touchdowns and two rushing scores in Alabama’s 63-0 victory over Western Kentucky. No other player has done this once for the Tide. The native Texan recorded 200 yards passing, 79 yards rushing, and five total touchdowns against the Hilltoppers. Milroe achieved the feat twice in 2023 in matchups against Middle Tennessee State (3 passing scores, 2 rushing scores) and Kentucky (3 passing scores, 3 rushing scores).

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder stands alone in this category. He did not start last year’s game versus South Florida because of a benching. This week, he is prepared to give the Bulls the business at Bryant-Denny Stadium as the starter.
