Alabama offers 300-pound Colorado OL

Deacon Schmitt picked up an offer from Alabama football on Saturday.

Schmitt attends Windsor High School in Windsor, Colorado. Multiple recruiting sites currently have him rated as a three-star recruit.

Alabama’s offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic informed him of his offer from the Crimson Tide.

“I was on a call with Coach Kap, and he offered me,” said Schmitt. “It means a lot. I was fired up. My family and I are super fired up.”

The junior went on to express his respect for the Alabama program.

“I mean it’s Alabama, powerhouse for years,” Schmitt said. “I think very highly on the program.”

The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder, lines up at right tackle for Windsor. He has flashed an ability to block in space while working into the second level. He is also a physical blocker, who consistently finishes them.
