Alabama football is very much in the mix for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
However, the Crimson Tide must win out to make this a reality.
Alabama made the playoffs last season in Nick Saban’s final season as the Tide’s head coach. Kalen DeBoer was also in the playoffs as Washington’s head coach, and he is quite familiar with what it takes to get to the big stage.
DeBoer is now challenging his Alabama players ahead of a pivotal game against LSU to lead by example.
“Tons of energy, just there was a purpose, just very deliberate in how we went out there,” DeBoer said when discussing Alabama’s latest practces on Monda. “There’s emotion and there’s energy, but it’s really focused on the right things. What I challenge our team to do is not just have the leaders that have been the leaders step up, but at this point, a team full of leaders. These freshmen aren’t freshmen. The new guys that come into this program aren’t just new guys anymore. That’s been the message. But really, for them to all raise their game as leaders, that means accountability for themselves, ourselves, each individually, and then also bring someone else with you. That’s been the challenge the last couple weeks, and I continue to kind of hone in on that.”
A lot of eyes will be on Alabama vs. LSU this weekend.
