He helped the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 and became the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to the Miami Dolphins. Mac Jones and Bryce Young would follow as a first-round selections, while Jalen Hurts got picked in the second round of the 2020 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Jalen Milroe is expected to go in the first round of next year’s draft, which would give the Tide its fourth signal-caller to be a first-round pick. Alabama saw its whole quarterback room get an opportunity at reps last week versus Mercer. Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan, and Austin Mack are all scholarship signal-callers that have the ability to operate Kalen DeBoer’s offense. The Tide has a great quarterback room, but what did we learn about each one after the game? A breakdown of the quarterbacks is below as next spring and fall will be interesting.
