Florida transfer DL possible target for Alabama in transfer portal

Alabama football has the potiential to be effective at making a strong push for Kelby Collins out of the portal.

Collins is a former four-star defensive lineman out of Gardendale High School in Alabama. He is currently in the transfer portal after two seasons with the Florida Gators.

The Alabama product grew up a fan of the Crimson Tide. On the day he committed to the Gators, his dad let everyone who was in attendance know, his Alabama gear inside his home was going to remain in place.

The Tide were a major part of Collins’ recruitment. Alabama’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach led the Tide’s push for him. The transfer always spoke highly of Roach when he was a recruit.

“Every time I get up there, it is always a good time,” Collins said as a recruit. “He always chats it up with me and my family and makes me feel welcome.”

Collins recorded 29 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and one force fumble in two seasons as a Gator.

Alabama has lost two defensive linemen to the portal so far. They only signed one 2025 high school interior defensive linemen and one JUCO interior defensive line prospect.

The defensive line could be another area Alabama targets in the portal, and Collins looks to be a likely target for them to go after.
