The University of Alabama has a defensive player that wants get back against Michigan.
Jihaad Campbell a junior linebacker, saw how the College Football Playoff Semifinal matchup ended at the Rose Bowl for the 2023 season versus the Wolverines. He witnessed his team suffer a 20-27 overtime loss to Michigan and does not want that to happen again. Campbell, a New Jersey native, is projected to be a first-round selection in next year’s NFL Draft; however, it is not the main thing on his mind. As a first-team All-SEC honoree, Campbell wants to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Dec. 31.
“I’m playing. Hell yeah I’m playing,” Campbell said Thursday in media availability for players. “I did not even think about that. I want to play with my brothers and it is another opportunity for me to showcase my talents and for everyone else to showcase their talents and the hard work they put in.”
Campbell leads the defense in total tackles (106), solo tackles (54), tackles for loss (11.5), and sacks (five).
He also has two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, and an interception.
Alabama has a defensive leader ready for the bowl game.
