Four-star tight end Mark Bowman out of Mater Dei High School (CA) is reclassifying from the 2027 class to the 2026 class. In addition to reclassifying, Bowman also narrowed his list of finalists down to 12 schools. Alabama was one of the schools that made the cut.
Bowman will be a priority recruit for many programs with one of those being Alabama. The Alabama coaching staff landed two recruits from Mater Dei High School for the 2025 class. Those two being cornerback Chuck McDonald and Abduall Sanders.
Bowman is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound pass catcher that has the intangibles to be a difference maker as an in-line tight end or split out wide at receiver. He has a similar build and skillset to Las Vegas Raiders tight end and former Georgia Bulldog Brock Bowers.
Alabama hosted Bowman for an unofficial visit during the 2024 season. I would expect the coaching staff to try and get Bowman to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa. It will be interesting to see how he ranks with the decision to reclassify and how Alabama decides to pursue the prized recruit.
