Former NFL executive lays out best path for Jalen Milroe: ‘He’s got first round talent all over him’

Former NFL executive, Mike Mayock believes Alabama quarterback, Jalen Milroe is the most intriguing prospect at his position in the 2025 draft.

Milroe had a roller coaster experience as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback. In two seasons under center, the former four-star out of Katy, Texas accounted for 6,016 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, 33 rushing touchdowns and 17 interceptions. While these numbers are impressive to many, Milroe’s deficiencies as a pure passer have some league talent evaluators torn on if Alabama quarterback has the ability to translate on Sundays.

One of those evaluators is Mayock, who recently sat down with Rich Eisen on the “Rich Eisen podcast” to lay out the best path for Milroe to ascend at the NFL level.

“Jalen Milroe is the guy that has first round talent all over him,” Mayock said. “Big, strong, fast, big arm but had a bad year this year, too many question marks. I’d love to get him in the second or third round and have no pressure to play him. Put him in a system behind, like Green Bay’s done the last serval quarterbacks. You know, sit a guy for two, three, four years, let him absorb it and learn from it. Polish his craft and come out then start three, four years into his career. That’s the guy that I’m intrigued by.”

Milroe will have a chance to improve his draft stock at the NFL Combine.
