Alabama wide receiver, Ryan Williams may be on the move within the formation of the Crimson Tide’s offense in 2025, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer.
This comes following an electric true freshman season by the Alabama native where Williams reeled in 48 receptions for 865 yards, eight receiving touchdowns and two rushing scores. Williams now enters his second season in the Crimson Tide offense with an opportunity to be line up in a different array of positions based on his playmaking abilities and the return of Jalen Hale from injury accompanied by addition of versatile Miami Hurricanes transfer, Isaiah Horton.
DeBoer met with media members Tuesday following the conclusion of Alabama’s fourth spring practice and shined a light on the different ways the Crimson Tide’s offense could use the All-SEC receiver in 2025.
“One thing in the slot, bringing in Isaiah Horton and having more length on the outside now with Jalen Hale too, has allowed Ryan to move around to different spots,” DeBoer said. “Between he and (Germie Bernard) and really I think Isaiah can play, maybe not the slot all the time, but these guys are very versatile. They kind of have their starting points, but we can move them around. That’s really what we like to do because we want to have a very unpredictable offense. So, certain guys in certain spots don’t carry over from week to week and we can utilize their strengths still.”
Williams looks to continue to captivate college football at wide receiver with this new plan to use him in different spots.
