Former Alabama defensive back, Terrion Arnold gave some NIL advice to Crimson Tide players and college football players across the country on the “New Wave” podcast.

Arnold played at Alabama for three years before getting drafted by the Detroit Lions as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Florida native helped started the “LANK” movement during his time Tuscaloosa along with Jalen Milroe. The pair decided to allow their teammates to financially benefit from the movement, and Arnold shared this was a decision powered by a wide outlook of NIL.

“I knew the bag was coming in the NFL,” Arnold said. “NIL, I feel like it’s like temporary fast money, which at the end of the day…You gotta go out there and get your bag. But at the same time, if you keep your mind focused, like what is the long-term goal? I knew long-term goal for me, I wanna be the greatest to ever play this game, one of the greatest to ever play this game. This is short, temporary cash.”

NIL continues to shape the future of college football.
