Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer provided an update on Wednesday regarding the health of sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams on the “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” show.

“Unfortunately at the end of spring ball, he suffered a little bit of a ding,” DeBoer said. “He’ll be fine. He’ll be ready to roll here this summer. Going back all the way to the month of January, just kind of him understanding, even from last season where he needed to get better is being stronger, right? He’s just younger so the body maturing and him just putting the work in and just being stronger and more durable, those type of things.”

Williams led by example during his freshman season with the Crimson Tide. DeBoer elaborated on one area that Williams has grown in during the offseason.

“Also, the leadership piece is just something I’m really proud of with how he’s tried to continue to grow. We have a lot of good leaders, so he’s a part of that,” DeBoer said, “He’s done an awesome job. Not afraid to say what he thinks.”

Williams was Alabama’s leading pass-catcher from a season ago. If Alabama wants to reach its full potential, Williams will need to continue to be productive and most importantly, remain healthy for the course of the 2025 season.
