Alabama hosting former South Carolina Edge for visit

Alabama currently has Desmond Umeozulu on campus for a visit. Umeozulu is in the transfer portal after three years with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The former four-star played in 36 games during his time with South Carolina. He contributed in 12 games during the 2025 season. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder finished his time in Columbia with 30 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Alabama lost two edge defenders to the transfer portal. The Tide currently has three edge rushers set to play the wolf linebacker position in Yhonzae Pierree, Justin Hill and Xavier Griffin. Umeozulu would be expected to compete for playing time at this position if he were to choose Alabama.

Kalen DeBoer and company continue to be active in the transfer portal.
