Alabama football’s 2027 tight end commit and New Jersey product Colt Lumpris is feeling the heat to flip from other programs.
Lumpris is a product of The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He garners a four-star rating from most recruiting sites at the moment. While he is verbally committed to Alabama, Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M are making a push to flip him.
The Tide’s tight end coach Richard Owens and Alabama football’s General Manager Courtney Morgan visited Lumpris at his home on Wednesday.
“Thank you for spending time with my family and I. Can’t wait to get down Tuscaloosa!” Lumpris posted to X after the visit.
Touchdown Alabama recently caught up with Lumpris, and he confirmed he remained committed to the Tide.
“We are still locked in,” Lumpris said.
Alabama is expected to get Lumpris on campus for an official visit later this month.
At 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds, Lumpris is an obvious mismatch when he lines up out wide with his length. Some of the most impressive parts of his game at this point are his ability to catch the football as a big target and work after the catch while getting up the field.
The Alabama commit pulled in 44 receptions for 812 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
