Things got chippy early on this week during Carolina Panthers training camp.

According to multiple report, a fight broke out on Monday during a live team period between the first team offense and defense after Panthers safeties Lathan Ransom and Nick Scott landed a major hit on running back Jonathan Brooks.

Quarterback Bryce Young reportedly had something to say about the hit and “started jawing” at the defense which then led to fight between the two groups.

Head coach Dave Canales shared that he liked how the team responded to things following the fight, while also instructing the defense to keep up the physical play.

“I talked to the defensive guys, like ‘Don’t back off on that. Let’s just see where our wideouts, receivers, where they’re at in those situations. If they can’t see you, thud’em up and hold’em up. If they can see you, I want it to be like football other than just, we’re not going to the legs,” Canales said. “So some teachable moments on both sides, really.”

For Young, this was a bit of a different side that was shown from the typically mild mannered former top pick. But it could also be a sign of the sense of urgency he will be playing  with as he enters a defining season in his career.
