Alabama football defeated Texas A&M 31-20 to improve to 6-2 on the season.

Here are some initial takeaways from the Crimson Tide’s win:

BYE Week Comes At Perfect Time For Tide

Alabama needs to get healthy and reset things with some self-scouting. The BYE week coming in the upcoming week is outstanding news for Kalen DeBoer and company. It gives them an opportunity to get several key players and starters back healthy.

Alabama Needs To Find Run Game Again

Alabama football’s rushing attack has regressed in recent weeks after the Tide’s rushing attack showed a lot of promise earlier in the season. It still remains true that a team must be able to run the football to compete at an extremely high level in college football and go after a National Championship. The Tide has several areas to improve before Natty talks arrive, and the run game is becoming one of them.

Keelon Russell Has To Say Goodbye To Chasing Big Plays

Keelon Russell came alive late in this one. He finished the game strong. The former five-star’s final stat line read 311 passing yards and three touchdowns. However, the early part of this game was a repeat showing of the bad side of Russell this season. He seems to continue to be a fan of chasing the big plays instead of being conservative and being okay with ending a drive with a kick.

New Difference Maker Emerges Up Front

Fatutoa Henry took full advantage of more snaps against Texas A&M on Saturday. He ended the game with two sacks and two tackles for loss, stamping himself as a player who will continue to get more snaps even when some injured defenders return.

Defense Continues To Be Hungry

Alabama football’s defense continues to be hungry, and this unit continues to show it can keep the Tide in most games in the future.
