–Summary: Alabama fans and NFL scouts are praying for Terrell Lewis to play a full season.
He has not accomplished this since his freshman year in 2016 and the young man was a freakish five-star defensive end from St. John’s High School in the 2016 class. Lewis was a Gatorade Player of the Year for Washington, D.C., while garnering the No. 47 spot on the ESPN 300. After collecting 11 tackles and one sack in his first year with the Crimson Tide, his 60-yard pick-six off Tua Tagovailoa (freshman then) in the 2017 A-Day Game had jaws dropping.
People could not believe a 6-foot-5, 252-pounder had hops and speed as well as good hands,
Lewis was expected to be a major factor in the last two seasons; however, mishaps with his elbow and knee robbed him of 25 games. He missed 10 games in 2017, but returned later in year and made a huge impact.
Lewis would turn in 16 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and a breakup in four games.
He saved his career performance for the 2018 CFP title game against Georgia. His seven tackles were huge, but his sack of Bulldogs’ quarterback Jake Fromm in overtime held the team to a field goal. Lewis’ efforts allowed for Alabama’s offense to script one of the greatest plays in school history and college football history in a 26-23 win.
He has all the tools needed to be a first-rounder, but can he have one season at full strength?
Lewis must end his career on a high note.
Last Two Weeks (Duke, New Mexico State)
-5 total tackles
-2 tackles for loss (team-high)
-one sack (tied for team lead)
